Abstract

In this study, the effects of planting times on dry grain quality traits of Deren, Elena and Irmak 01 pea varieties were investigated by applying 5 different planting times in the pea growing season in Kahramanmaras conditions. In the trials, split plots were established in the experimental design and planting times were placed in main plots and varieties were placed in sub-plots. In the research, pod setting time, harvest period, harvest index, thousand grain weight, protein content, starch content and oil content were examined. Statistically significant differences were recorded planting times, and variety x planting time interactions in terms of the examined traits, such as pod setting time, protein content, and oil content of the varieties. The differences between the varieties according to starch content were statistically significant. Thousand grain weight showed statistically significant differences according to varieties and planting times. It was recorded that the Deren variety had a higher value than the other varieties in terms of protein content, late plantings increased the protein content, thousand grain weight decreased in late plantings, and harvest index decreased in late and early plantings.
