Abstract

In this study, molecular characterizations of a total of 168 potato genotypes including commercial varieties and breeding lines were performed and their genetic diversity was determined. For this purpose, genotyping was performed by capillary electrophoresis method using 10 SSR markers, and genetic diversity within the population was examined according to Nei genetic distance method. As a result of genotyping, 10 SSR markers formed a total of 48 scoreable bands in 168 potato genotypes. 47 of the 48 bands obtained showed polymorphism. The number of polymorphic bands of each marker used varied between 1 and 9, and the average number of polymorphic bands was calculated as 4.7. The average polymorphism rate of the total 10 SSR markers was 95%. The polymorphism information content (PIC) value of the markers varied between 0.08 and 0.42, and the average PIC value was calculated as 0.28. Among the genotypes examined, the most genetically distant ones from each other are Tiger with PAE 15-7-19, Kafkas with PAE 15-6-11, Yaprak with PAE 15-7-22, Aydos with PAE 15-7-22, Yankı with PAE 15-7-22, Innovator with PAE 15-5-8, Bettina with Nam, Guzine with PAE 15-5-8 and Julinka with Innovator with a genetic distance value of 0.7802. The closest genotypes are Leventbey with Muratbey and Bergerac with Highland B. Red with a genetic distance value of 0.0645.
